Sesame Street Publishing
This past year, Twin Sisters Productions was granted the Sesame Street license. This gave us the opportunity to create product pairing our award-winning music with the famous Sesame Street characters. It has been such a learning experience for me as a former classroom teacher! Working with different style guides to create workbooks, songbooks and flashcards has really stretched me as a writer and educator. It is my absolute favorite to create new product at Twin Sisters because it brings me back to the classroom and is, personally, so rewarding.
So far, we have published educational workbooks, wipe-clean books, flashcards and audio books with the Sesame Street characters. Sesame Street is the #1 children’s show among moms with kids aged 2-5 and is still running strong. I just love this wholesome brand! From Elmo to Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby, there are endless lessons to be learned and skills to be taught. Be sure to watch for our new products coming out in 2013!
It’s hard to believe that Twin Sisters Productions has been working with QVC for 12 years! When we came up with the idea to launch a set of Greeting Cards with CDs, we weren’t sure what the response would be from QVC’s audience. To our relief, they were a big hit! Three of our sets, including Christmas Jazz, Christmas Memories, and Acoustic Christmas, have gone GOLD– meaning over 1.5 Million albums have been sold. Each year we deliver new card designs, a new Christmas album and we change the look and value of the set. For the last two years, I’ve worked with Walt Wise, who is not only an outstanding musician and arranger, but a true performer. He has played clips from our albums at two of the previous QVC Christmas in July shows.
In 2005, I took the Guest Excellence Seminar at QVC in order to become the face of the Twin Sisters Greeting Cards with CDs. I have to say, it is a bit overwhelming. After a few years it got easier, but when high definition television came out, I thought to myself, “Oh no, my make up will have to be perfect!” However, when my children would watch my shows and tell me that I did great, I was relieved. They are my biggest fans!
One time when I flew into Philadelphia, the airlines lost my luggage. I was scheduled to go on QVC the following morning, but I was without my clothes, make up and even my product! I remember driving straight to a mall and buying everything at nine ‘o clock at night. I was fortunate it was late fall, and the stores were open later! Now, when I travel, I always hand carry an extra outfit just in case.
Lifeway Christian Stores is one of my favorite accounts. I consider them a great publishing partner because I work with their team to write exclusive products for every Christmas and Easter. From books with music to craft books, read-along and puzzle books, we come up with new themes and content each year.
